Branching Out Foundation AZ and The Good Works Project is an Arizona nonprofit 501(c)(3) providing vital support to children in foster care, young adults aging out of the system, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Through our Foundation, we provide everyday essentials, life-skills programs, and moments of joy that remind each child they are part of a caring community.
At Branching Out, we are committed to empowering children, families, and individuals in our community through a variety of comprehensive support services. We believe that every child counts. Founded with a heart for serving Arizona's most vulnerable populations, particularly children in foster care and individuals with developmental disabilities, our mission is to create opportunities for growth, inclusion, and success.
With a team of dedicated professionals and volunteers, we focus on empowering those we serve with dignity, respect, and unwavering support. Our goal is simple: to branch out, grow together, and make a lasting difference in the lives of those who need it most.

Branching Out was founded by Cherrie Vierra, a developmental health professional, special needs parent, and adoptive mom. Her vision grew from lived experience—the belief that every family deserves consistent, compassionate support.
What began as a personal mission has grown into a statewide effort to empower children and families through programs that build confidence, inclusion, and lasting community ties. Cherrie’s leadership continues to inspire a culture of empathy, innovation, and connection at the heart of everything we do.
